Fabulous Friends!!!

Last night I went to see Sally who spoilt me with tea and cakes!!




Yum yum!!

But she also made me a lovely gift! I was very touched by her thoughtfulness!!




She hand made me a little sign saying harris-marsh! It looks great on the mantelpiece!!

Off for a meeting with my friend Lisa today to start organising the retreat in June and then lunch with Tracy whilst Georgia and her friend Tommy play!!

Where would I be without my friends??? (probably doing much more college work! But hey, a little friendly distraction doesn't hurt!!!!!)

Life just goes on!!!

This week started off unexpectedly! We arrived at school only to find it was closed due to burst pipes!! So instead we had a fab day out at a local theme park for littlies! We ended up getting an annual membership so we can go back lots!!




Today felix had his friend round for tea and had a great time playing!



Now just off for a bath and bed!!!

11th session

Yesterday we watched Felix in his panto at 11th session. He was a police man called Cola and of course, he was brilliant! A little tentative maybe, but the hall was full of people to perform to!!! A very proud moment for us!!

I also finished my art piece! I have called it 'somewhere over the rainbow' as it is a positive colourful piece which is full of possibilities!!!

I am such a baby!!

I am such a baby when it comes to going to the dentist!!

Went for a check up today and the dentist that I built a relationship of trust with over last three years (after telling me I was his most difficult patient and that I was leaking out of the edge of my eyes!!! I call it crying!!) has now moved on to Germany!

But they didn't ring me to tell me this fact! No! I walked in to find a new dentist who is permanent! ( I clarified that before I start trusting him!!)

Anyway I can't help it! The minute I lie down my eyes start leaking and I start shaking!!

So I need a new filling as I chipped my old one and that involves an injection!.......So I didn't have it done today!

Need time to mentally prepare for that one and find my iPod so I can blast music into eyes and not hear anything that is happening!! To visualise myself in Abbas world not in the dentist surgery!!!

Anyway long shot of it is that I am and probably always will be a very big baby at the dentist!!!!! And I am back there in two weeks to do it all over again!!

It feels like spring!

Oh I do love it when it starts to feel like spring!

The sun is out, the weather is warmer and the air is fresh and crisp!!




This is what greeted me this morning in the kitchen, it made me smile and full of optimism, I love this time of year!

Truly inspired!!

My mum has been experimenting with fabrics and got some great new books on sewing, fabric collage for Christmas!

I had a little play in all her stuff!! I made some panels in the colour of the rainbow!! I am really pleased with them!!




I still want to sew some beads on etc, then I am going to frame it and call it 'somewhere over the rainbow'!!

Truly felt inspired and throughly enjoyed making them!!!!

Nothing like art for the soul!!!

Poorly bunny!

Oh no! I have a poorly baby girlie! Feeling very sorry for herself today!



Didn't stop her watching telly through her sick bowl though!!!! I was feeling a little rough too but then I had a wonderful massage! (So did Chris!). My friend Fiona has set herself up in business doing beauty therapy and will come to your home for treatments! Her prices are very reasonable too!! Let me know if you want her number!!!

The aromatherapy oils that she used have left the front room smelling delicious! (for a change!!)

Last night I baby sat for my friend Sally and did some scrapbooking!

Ok......I really need to stop spending money this month now!!!

We are only two weeks into jan and already my overdraft is at the max! Must not spend any more money!!!!

It is just that when I take a peek at the charity shops, everything seems such a bargain!!!

Bit more expensive at £10.99 but it is Colclough!!!

And a few odd ones for a couple of quid!!




Just cannot resist a bargain!!!!!!

Got a bit of a sore throat today so have whacked some vits down me! Had to get up early to wash the dreaded nit stuff out of hair! (not mine!!! I kill mine with the straighteners!!!!)

But did have my first treatment of lazer hair removal!! OMG!! It hurts!!!! Felt like someone was needle felting me!!!

Will take pain killers next time!!!

Today has been a good day!

Today I handed in my assignment on curriculum development and inclusive practice! Very relieved to have finished it! I am really enjoying doing my PGCE! It challenges my mind and gives me a focus but I do feel a pressure over my head when there is a deadline looming!!!

It was Georgia's first full day at nursery today and her first proper packed lunch!! She was ver excited and very pleased because her daddy took her to school so he could see her nursery! She was ready and dressed with coat on waiting by the door at 7am!!!!!!!

I picked them up and we all went to cooking club, where we cooked up a pepperoni pizza using a scone recipe as a base!!




We got the award for being most messy (although it was hard to find us in the cloud of flour we produced!!!) and as a result award (to me!!) for keeping cool in the kitchen!! I think she knew I really needed Valium to be there!!! I know why I don't do much 'baking' at home!!!! It takes a year to clean up after!!!!!! My limit is pre made mixes that you add water to!!!!!

It was fun though and felix loves it!!!!!!

Just the bedtime run to do now before putting my feet up in front of tv!!

Chris coming home late after meetings in london today (finishing off with one at a champagne reception!!! Techically I don't think that should be classed as a meeting!!!! ........ But then I don't own a super yacht either!!!!)

It's a girlie thing!!

I am very pleased with the bargains I got today at the charity shops!!



My very good friend Rachel has a big birthday coming up this year and my other friend Tracy loves all things girlie! So for their joint present I am throwing them an afternoon tea party! They get to invite another two friends along too! The dress code is hats!! We will have proper tea cups and saucers with cake stands etc etc!!



It is going to be fun deciding the menu but I am thinking smoked salmon and cucumber sandwiches, Victoria sponge cake, cupcakes as a start!!

What else would you like to see on an afternoon tea menu??

My baby girl is no longer a baby!!!

Georgia started school nursery today!!




She was really excited about it! She spent her hour visit painting, cutting and playing in the sand! Tomorrow she goes on her own then on wed she does her first full day there including having a packed lunch!!





She is officially no longer a baby and now a 'big' girl starting her schooling journey!!

However there will be no tears from me! I am really looking forward to the next stage of our journey now the children are getting older and more independent!!

Phew! It went well!!

Phew! Thankfully my first lesson is over!! I really enjoyed it but feel wiped out now!!!!

I had too much in my lesson plan which is a good thing!! I really had to focus the group to stay on track! We could have gone off on all sorts of interesting different tangents!! They are a very talkative but participative group!!!



Me this morning, ready to face the day!!!!

I am all nerves!!!!

Tomorrow is the first day that I teach on the youth work module at Derby University and I feel more nervous than I have in a very long time!! The first session is on perceptions of young people.
It is to a group of 33 first years!!

I keep telling myself that it will be fine, reminding myself that I have 16 years experience working with young people and have completed the same degree myself!..........still feels like the first day at school!!!!!! There are butterflies everywhere! Off to find the rescue remedy now!!!!!!

Bye bye baby!!

Today we had a home visit from the school nursery! Mrs M and Mr S came to visit Georgia about starting next Monday!

So it's goodbye to my baby days! I think I will have a small twinge of sadness as I leave her there on the first day!!





Although it will be lovely to move on through the ages with my children and despite the baby days being hard.....there is still something special about those little tiny humans!!!

New year......new rules!!!!!

Right! Enough is enough!! I have decided that both kids are old enough to start doing a chore daily!!! The ones that would help most are ..........





Loading the dishwasher and



Sweeping the floor under the table after dinner!!

Despite lots of protests and argues about who sweeps up, both kids finally did it!!!! They even had smiles on their faces (eventually!!!!!!!!)

Each job will be done on a rotation basis but will be done by them daily !!!!!! (umm.....I wonder how long it will actually last!!! Hopefully at least the end of the week!!)
I feel liberated!!!! I will no longer be a domestic slave to my children!!!!! (well this week any way!!!)

Back to school tomorrow!! Not looking forward tooth early morning get up but am looking forward to the peace!!

We have the home visit from the nursery tomorrow for Georgia starting at the school nursery next week!!! No more baby!!! Part of me is sad to see this phase of my life gone but part of me is looking forward to some freedom again!!!!! Not having to travel ever where with so much clobber! Just sad I will have to leave the pushchair behind! What will I do with all my shopping!!!!!

There's no place like home!!

I have had a really lovely very slow but productive day today!! It was my turn for the lie in so I slept in until 11am!! It is such a treat since we had kids to do that!! It is one of my favourite things!!!!

Chris then took our two little monkeys to the cinema to see Gulivers travels whilst I wrote up my lessons plans for the youth work module that I am teaching on in a week!!

We then spent some play time with Felix and Georgia before they went of to bedfordshire!!! Then we settled down to Miss Marple!!!! What a fab day!!! Oh how I have changed!!!!!!!

It's a lovely change though!!!! I have actually not been put the house for 4 days and have really enjoyed slowing the pace of life down a bit!!!!

New years resolutions!!!!!!

Last night we had a murder mystery party at our house which was set in 1925!

This was my costume for it!!



Was it a good night I hear you ask!!! Well Tracy turned out to be the murderer! Silent but deadly!!!!

..........So my new years resolution this year is to blog at least 5 out of 7 days a week, and at the end of the year have it all created into a book that in many many years to come, can be read and reflected on by future generations!

This is a good year to do it as it will include the birth of my nephew/niece in May!!

How lovely it will be to record that as well as my children's thoughts and feelings!! I might also put in some of today's costs!!!

A bottle of wine is about £5, a litre of petrol is £1.25, a loaf of bread is around £1, house prices are at a low currently!
